About NREN

A new initiative administered by Lake APC in Lake County, the Northern Rural Energy Network (NREN) provides energy efficiency services and programs targeted at PG&E customers in the residential, commercial, and public sectors, while also providing financing, promoting enhanced local codes and standards adoption and workforce development opportunities.

NREN is part of a statewide initiative of regional energy networks focused on helping communities address rising utility costs through the adoption of energy efficiency programs targeted at rural customers.

NREN Partners

NREN is a partnership of four distinct organizations that came together to strengthen energy efficiency programming for rural Northern Californians, ensuring our regions have access to the same opportunities and services provided in more urban areas of the state.

The four NREN partners are LAPC, Mendocino Council of Governments (MCOG), Redwood Coast Energy Authority (RCEA) and Sierra Business Council (SBC) that cover 17 counties in rural Northern California.

Our aim is to provide Lake County communities with information, tools, and program resources to reduce their energy consumption and costs while improving quality of life.
