State Route 53 Corridor Public Out Reach Report

Given the safety concerns of pedestrians, bicyclists, and motor vehicle users, the Study is intended to develop a list of community led priorities for biking, pedestrian, and operational improvements along the corridor.  The project will involve public outreach efforts focusing on safety projects along the SR 53 corridor within the city limits of Clearlake. Grant programs often require a significant amount of community input in an effort to determine needs and priorities best suited for funding. Through a combination of public in-person workshops, surveys, and online engagement, the project will gather the concerns and insights of community members to develop a set of priorities and potential projects for which funding can be sought with the support of those benefiting or otherwise most impacted by the improvements. Special attention will be given to underserved populations (e.g. economically disadvantaged, seniors, disabled, tribal members, etc.) in designing outreach methods and collecting relevant data.
